Dave Waite‘s comedy album Hotdoggin’ comes out tomorrow, August 12th on Stand Up! Records. Today, he talks about one of his favorite albums, chosen at random from a few contenders – George Carlin’s A Place for My Stuff, which was a ton of fun to revisit. Stand up mixed with sketch is hard to do right, and while Carlin does, it’s easy to see why few people have done it right since – namely, it’s hard to be that brilliant as a stand up and then also spend the time to translate your unique voice into sketch. Awesome stuff.
On a sad note, the world lost Robin Williams today. Listen toward the end for two clips from my favorite Robin Williams film, Good Morning, Vietnam.
